The Temple of the Feathered Serpent was built between 150 and 200 AD. C., is an iconic building for its beautiful and complex decorations, which in times of splendor, were painted mainly in bright red, green and blue colors, which covered an otherwise impressive building.

The name of this majestic structure is due to the feathered serpent heads that are distributed on the boards, accompanied by symbols of Tlaloc, among shells and sea snails that alludes to an aquatic environment.

Approximately between the year 300 and 400 AD. C, the Temple of Quetzalcóatl was partially covered by another structure called "Plataforma Adosada", due to an apparent change in the political-religious structure in the city.
