Pyramid of The Moon

The Pyramid of the Moon delimits to the north the Calzada de los Muertos, which harmoniously and symbolically outlines this sacred site.

The Plaza de la Luna is a wide space surrounded by 13 smaller bases and in the center you can see a four-step shrine, all these buildings have the typical Teotihuacan architectural characteristics and that, in their time of splendor, were covered with of paintings, which made the place an exceptional setting worthy of public rituals.

At the foot of the pyramid is Structure A, framed by two bases, inside which there are ten altars that symbolize the cardinal directions, the Inter cardinal directions and the center of the universe.
